Zoo Ambassador - Seasonal

Overview

The Virginia Zoo is looking to welcome new team members to join our Guest Services department for this season. We are seeking energetic, customer service–focused individuals who want to deliver a memorable and positive guest experience to the visitors of the Virginia Zoo.

• Greet and interact with guests.
• Answer on-site guest questions and resolve guest issues.
• Accurately process monetary transactions and adhere to all cash handling policies.
• Introduce non-members to the Zoo Membership program, highlighting benefits and value.
• Process admission tickets, membership enrollments/renewals/gifts through the CRM point of sale system.
• Maintain and update the membership database ensuring accuracy.
• Provide excellent guest experience by answering incoming phone calls, returning voicemails, and redirecting calls to the proper department when necessary.
• Support events by staffing check-ins, membership sales, and maintaining lines.
• Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized membership office.
• Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.

• At least 1 year of customer service experience preferred.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.

• Must be confident, energetic, and self-motivated with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner.
• Ability to work in a team environment or alone for extended periods.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
