Job Overview
The Administrative Assistant position at Military Sealift Command (MSC) in Norfolk is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to provide excellent support to the Government customer. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

- Provide general administrative support by processing correspondence, performing data entry, and record management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the department.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and requests both promptly and professionally.
- Responsible for managing the department's workload, delegating assignments to junior level team members, and performing routine Quality Assurance reviews to ensure all tasks are being completed accurately.
- Participate in the training of department team members.
- Conduct research required to complete special projects as assigned.
- Maintain and accurately update internal databases, spreadsheets, reports, records, and filing systems.
- Prepare and distribute internal communications, reports, and presentations as requested.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient office operations and workflow.
- Procure and maintain office supplies and equipment by submitting Order Requests on behalf of the Government department to ensure inventory levels are sufficient.
- Adhere to established procedures, policies, and guidelines to maintain confidentiality and data security.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
