To provide administrative assistance to Student Affairs leadership by coordinating and administering complex programs or services. The position requires proficiency with a variety of software an understanding of database structures and the information contained therein. Duties include completing a wide range of Student Affairs assignments that involve regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia and University policies.
QualificationsMinimum qualifications include considerable experience as an administrative assistant supporting a mid‑ to high‑ level administrator, comprehensive knowledge of modern office practices, and familiarity with university procurement/payment policies including small purchase card and Colleague Financials. The candidate must demonstrate excellent customer service, strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and the ability to plan, organize work, prioritize competing deadlines, exercise sound judgment, and solve problems independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 2010 or higher, experience with student information systems such as Colleague Financials and eVA, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are required. A high‑school diploma or equivalent education and experience is required. An associate degree or equivalent education and experience is an additional consideration.
