Job DescriptionThe position coordinates weekend operational activities and services. The primary purpose of the position is circulation services, including reserves, and supervision of hourly employees. Provides high quality customer service at the help desk and assists users with research, circulation, library, student support services, and technical questions.
Qualifications- Demonstrated knowledge of basic business and writing skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic mathematical skills to reconcile financial data and perform statistical data collection
- Demonstrated considerable knowledge of effective customer service and problem resolution techniques
- Demonstrated considerable knowledge of library research resources
- Effective time management and organizational skills to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Considerable interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated considerable skills in word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Demonstrated considerable problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, train and evaluate a diverse library staff and student assistants
- Demonstrated considerable ability to exercise independent judgment and decision making within general guidelines
- Considerable ability to work well in a diverse team environment, as well as independently
- Considerable ability to follow and interpret policies and procedures in performing detailed work
- Considerable work experience in providing customer service in a busy public setting
- Some experience with integrated library systems and knowledge of circulation functions
- Some experience in using online research databases
- Some experience in leading and directing the work of others
- Some experience producing reports and manipulating data using Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel
- Additional Experience and Knowledge:
- Some knowledge of library systems, services, and organization
- Some knowledge of Library of Congress classification system
- Some experience working with media equipment
- Some experience working in higher education
- Some experience working with integrated library systems and working knowledge of circulation functions
Monday-Wednesday, 8am-5pm;
Saturday-Sunday, 9am-6pm
Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $33,828.
