Senior Accountant

First Four Group, a preeminent source for specialized accounting and financial recruitment, is currently seeking a Senior Accountant on behalf of our client, a private equity company holding multiple vertically intergated portoflio companies in the maritime defense sector. This role will be supporting a newly acquired portoflio company that specializes in ship repair and ship systems installation.

The Senior Accountant report to the Controller with additional dotted line reporting into the parent company Controller. Our client is seeking a degreed accountant with greater than 4 years of strong general ledger accounting experience as well as experience processing operational accounting tasks such as AR and AP on a backup basis. The candidate should have quanitifiable experience with bank reconciliations, recording journal entries, general ledger review and adjusting entries, as well as month-end close functions.

This is an onsite, direct hire role that will sit in Portsmouth, VA with occasional ability to work at the parent company office in Chesapeake. Depending on performance, there may be some hybrid scheduling flexibility over time.
