Sous Chef - Bank

Overview

We’re looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering a nutritionally balanced, high‑quality culinary service to our residents. You’ll be part of a close‑knit team that values compassion, respect, and commitment to exceptional care.

• Support the Head Chef in leading the culinary team within budget and safety standards.
• Prepare modified diets that are appealing, balanced, and adhere to IDDSI guidance.
• Supervise and direct culinary staff, providing instruction to unqualified staff on simple food preparation.
• Apply safe food handling principles to maintain the highest hygiene standards.
• Assist team members in fully understanding the Avery Food Safety Management System.

• Relevant catering qualification – City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of catering experience.
• Demonstrated compassion and commitment to high‑quality culinary services for residents.
• Adaptive and flexible, able to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.

• DBS Disclosure check (cost covered by Avery Healthcare).
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
