JOB SUMMARY
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Consultant to join our Adult Mental Health Social Care Service, supporting the continuation and development of the Mental Health Duty Team.

This is a varied and fast-paced role, ideal for an experienced Social Worker or Occupational Therapist who is passionate about high-quality practice and keen to develop their leadership and management experience.

Hybrid working arrangements are in place, enabling you to work flexibly from home or from a range of office bases across the county.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:  
 
Allocating duty work and providing professional support to Assistant Practitioners on duty
Managing a range of urgent and complex work, including:
 
Protection of Property duties
Crisis assessments
Commissioning urgent packages of care
Initial management of safeguarding referral contacts   
Supporting the ongoing Test and Learn pilot with our mental health care provider
Holding a small caseload of complex cases and leading on specialist areas of practice  
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

Degree or Diploma in Social Work or Occupational Therapy (CSS or CQSW accepted)
Registered with Social Work England or HCPC (as appropriate)
Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience within health or social care

Experience of supervising others
Strong knowledge of relevant health and social care legislation

Experience of working with complex cases, safeguarding, risk assessment and crisis situations
Ability to use electronic case management systems and produce high-quality reports  Please be advised that only candidates that have the specific skills and experiences required for this role will be shortlisted and submitted to our client for review.
