Waking Night Support Worker
LocationAcle, NR13, Norfolk.
Hours & ScheduleFull time - 37.5 hours per week (4 nights one week, 3 nights the next). Covers Saturday and Sunday nights every other week. Availability for weekday training and induction is essential.
About the Care RecipientWe’re looking for a calm, caring and attentive support worker to care for a gentleman in his 60s who lives independently. The client does not use words to communicate but responds warmly, with smiles, eye contact and the occasional "yeah". He enjoys visual choices, tractors, people‑watching, brass band music, puzzles and going out in his car.
Responsibilities- Provide reassurance and regular checks throughout the night.
- Position and reposition hourly to maintain comfort and wellbeing.
- Perform PEG feeding and PEG medication administration (nil by mouth).
- Move and assist, including hoisting to bed as part of a two‑person team.
- Complete household tasks as required overnight.
- Support with full personal care in the morning before handover.
- Calm, patient, and compassionate approach.
- Confidence to provide hands‑on personal care support.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout waking night shifts.
- Genuine interest in building positive, respectful relationships.
- No previous care experience required; full paid training will be provided.
