Technical Safety Engineer – Drive Safety Excellence in a Leading Oil & Gas Operator

As a Technical Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding operations through advanced consequence modelling and safety studies, working within a collaborative team that values continuous learning and professional growth. Required Skills
  • Proven experience in consequence modelling using tools such as PHAST and FLARESIM; knowledge of CFD is a plus
  • Strong capability in Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), fire and explosion risk assessment
  • Understanding of fire water systems and associated safety mechanisms
  • Expertise in leading safety studies including TRM, HAZID, Bowtie analysis, and ALARP demonstrations
  • Ability to develop barrier diagrams and contribute to Safety Case documentation
  • Experience engaging with regulators and compliance with UK Oil & Gas legislation
  • Proficient in managing technical safety studies involving external contractors
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • Degree in Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Several years of hands‑on experience in technical safety within the Oil & Gas sector, particularly offshore environments
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations such as OSDR/SCR, PFEER, DSEAR, DCR, PSR, and PSSR
