Lab Technician III – Chemistry Lab
Job Description
Nucor Steel – Nebraska is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Lab Technician III – Chemistry Lab. The Lab Technician III – Chemistry Lab plays a critical role in supporting Melt Shop operations by ensuring the integrity of testing, performing timely and accurate chemical analyses of steel samples, evaluating internal billet quality through macro‑etch sampling, and maintaining testing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Testing steel and slab samples for the EAF, LMF, VTD, and Caster while maintaining the Chemistry Lab and equipment.
- Preparing and evaluating macro‑etch billet samples.
- Working rotating shifts and scheduled/unscheduled overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrating the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous lab/testing experience
- Previous manufacturing and computer systems experience
