Position Summary

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides skilled evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning for residents requiring occupational therapy services. This role focuses on helping individuals regain independence in daily living and work-related activities following illness, injury, or surgery. The PRN Occupational Therapist works on an as-needed basis to support the therapy team and ensure continuity of quality resident care.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate residents’ functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans to improve independence, safety, and quality of life.
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions in accordance with physician orders and the resident’s plan of care.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on adaptive techniques, equipment use, and home exercise programs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members—including physical therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and social services—to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries per facility and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in care plan meetings and contribute to goal-setting for optimal resident outcomes.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and facility policies and procedures governing therapy practice and patient care.
Qualifications
  • Current and active license to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Nebraska.
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Prior experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, time management, and documentation skills.
  • Compassionate, team-oriented approach to resident care.
Schedule & Compensation

Status
: PRN (as needed)

Hours
:
Flexible scheduling, including potential weekends and holidays as available.

Compensation
:
Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
