The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide skilled occupational therapy services to our residents. This role is essential in helping individuals regain daily living skills, improve functional abilities, and achieve rehabilitation goals.
Key Responsibilities- Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the OT.
- Assist residents in improving their fine motor skills, cognitive function, self-care, and daily living activities.
- Document resident progress, outcomes, and treatment sessions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for residents during therapy sessions.
- Participate in team meetings, care planning, and ongoing professional development.
- Current and valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Nebraska.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Passion for helping residents achieve independence and improve quality of life.
- Experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings preferred but not required.
