JOB TITLE:ELEMENTARY INSTRUCTIONAL LEADER / COACH (2026 - 2027 School Year) Requirements
- Master's Degree from an accredited university or college
- Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate in any content area
- Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate
- Successfully pass the district background check
Reports To: Director of Teaching and Learning
Terms of Employment: Nine-month year or as established by the Board of Education.
Initial salary placement will be determined by using the current certified salary structure plus 10 days of per diem of the current base salary.
Evaluation: Evaluated annually by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in accordance with provisions of the district's Personnel Evaluation Policy

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of functionality
- Models continuous improvement, demonstrates lifelong learning, and applies new learning to help all students achieve
- Outstanding organizational skills with an attention to detail
- Strong technology skills with data entry, various website and program experience
- Expand and deepen the impact of the Teaching and Learning Department to positively influence professional development and student achievement.
- Increase professional learning opportunities across the district.
- The role of the Instructional Leader is to merge the complex details of instruction and testing programs with effective teaching and learning.
- This position is specifically targeted for assisting teachers and leading at the PK-4 Grades
- This position fills an important connection between curriculum, instruction, and assessment responsibilities.
- This position supports training and implementation of state and local assessments
- This position is responsible for compiling, maintaining, and ensuring the accuracy of student assessment data, curriculum documents, and all related materials involved with the Teaching and Learning Department.
- This information will be used to provide accurate overviews of student achievement and data trends.
- This position will support the implementation of the Nebraska Reading Improvement Act.
- The position will support the implementation of PLC, MTSS, and PBIS within the district.
- This position works with the other Instructional Leaders to train new teachers on the NPS Instructional Model and serves as a district Mentor for new hires. This includes monthly meetings after school with this group.
- This position will have an influence on decisions revolving around instructional and assessment decisions for the district.
The Instructional Leader / Coach will demonstrate and model a passion for teaching and learning. This is NOT a supervisory position and DOES NOT include evaluation of colleagues.
