The Construction Site Supervisor is a temporary position with an estimated duration of 18 months, offering the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The initial project location is Yankton, SD, and the selected candidate must live or be able to stay within 30 miles of the job site for the duration of the project. General Summary of the Position

This position oversees the construction of agricultural structures, facilities, and material handling systems, ensuring projects meet safety, quality, and timeline requirements. Responsibilities include supervising daily site operations, coordinating crews and subcontractors, and maintaining accurate timekeeping. The role may involve occasional physical labor on agricultural construction projects as required, operating hand and power tools, heavy equipment, material handling machinery, and computers, and communicating regularly with the construction crew, project manager, and company leadership to provide updates, address concerns, and resolve issues.

Functions
  • May perform occasional physical labor under adverse field conditions, including lifting (50–90 lbs.), pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, walking, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Travel 90% of the time (unless local to the construction site).
  • Occasional work at varying heights using proper fall protection; ascend/descend structures safely.
  • See, understand and communicate signals/instructions from the ground or at heights.
  • Work safely in tight, restricted spaces, following proper confined space procedures.
  • Inspect work progress, equipment, and job sites to verify safety and compliance with specifications; instruct employees to prevent and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and agricultural‑specific safety regulations.
  • Work with project manager to coordinate daily work activities of construction crew with subcontractor activities on the site.
  • Plan and oversee site activities, including scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Manage inventory of construction materials and equipment, ensuring proper storage and efficient usage.
  • Collaborate with managerial or technical personnel, other departments or subcontractors to resolve problems and coordinate activities.
  • Prepare documentation and report accidents or injuries.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics; verify adherence to specifications.
  • Implement and monitor site security measures to protect personnel, materials, equipment and property.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Punctual and regular attendance to assigned job location is an essential function of this position.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Requires ability to occasionally perform physical work including lifting (50–90 lbs.), pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, walking, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Accurately calculate load/capacity, angles, leverage, measuring, etc.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and agricultural safety standards.
  • Basic computer and software knowledge, including iPad technology to complete and upload job tickets, trip sheets and other required paperwork.
  • Ability to manage and build good relationships with employees to motivate, foster open, honest and candid communication, and determine strengths and weaknesses.
  • Excellent communication skills – reading/writing/verbal for efficiency in cooperative work assignments, to follow and promote safe work practices, and prepare and transmit consistent, accurate reports and time keeping.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented, able to keep accurate records related to all activities on the assigned construction site.
  • Ability to use good judgment and decision‑making skills to answer questions, address complaints and resolve problems with employees, subcontractors and customers.
  • Skilled in meeting quality standards for service and customer satisfaction.
