Identity and Driver Credential Specialist 1 (MSA) - Norcross

State of Georgia is hiring an Identity and Driver Credential Specialist 1 to serve customers at its Norcross location. The position is full‑time with a fixed salary of $35,500.00 per year.

As an Identity and Driver Credential Specialist 1, you will provide customer service and administer driver and  examinations. You will work with a diverse population, handle high‑volume transactions, and may serve as a team lead for lower‑level staff.

• Work with citizens to ensure applications, records, and documents are completed accurately.
• Accompany drivers in vehicles, both in a traditional and virtual capacity, to evaluate their adherence to Georgia’s driving laws.
• Conduct driving examinations for motorcycle and commercial licenses in accordance with state law and regulations.
• Operate visual testing equipment.
• Accurately collect payments via cash or credit cards.

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
• Completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
• A valid Georgia Class C or equivalent license must be maintained while employed.
• At least one (1) year of face‑to‑face customer service experience within the last five years.
• At least one (1) year of cash transaction experience, including handling cash and processing credit card payments within the last five years.
• Comfortable working with computer and internet technology.

• At least three (3) years of face‑to‑face customer service experience within the last five years.
• At least three (3) years of recent face‑to‑face cash transaction experience within the last five years.
• Live within 30 miles of the Customer Service Center.
• Bilingual skillset (preferred).

Road tests occur throughout the year in various weather conditions. The role requires walking, standing, and constant interaction with the public and coworkers.

• A valid Georgia driver’s license is required and must be maintained while employed.
• Successful completion of the CCKE (Certified Commercial Knowledge Examiner) Certification is required for all employees who issue driver’s licenses.
• Employees who conduct CDL road tests must complete the CDL Examiner and CCE (Certified Commercial Examiner) Certifications.
• Employees must maintain these certifications to continue employment with DDS.
• Flexible work availability is required due to varying operational hours.
• Employees may be required to assist other centers as a term and condition of employment.
