Base Pay Range
$50.00/hr - $60.00/hr
Job DescriptionFSP is looking for a Fire Alarm Technician in the Fire and Safety Industry who is responsible for programming, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate may start as a Senior Fire Alarm Technician or advance to this level with experience.
Responsibilities- Designing and programming fire alarm systems to meet client needs, including selecting appropriate equipment and configuring the system to meet local, state, and federal regulations.
- Testing and troubleshooting fire alarm systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Collaborating with project managers, technicians, and other stakeholders to keep projects within budget, on schedule, and meeting client satisfaction.
- Providing technical support to clients and colleagues, answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and training as needed.
- Maintaining accurate records of work, labor and materials costs, and preparing reports.
- Keeping up-to-date with changes in fire alarm codes, regulations, and new technologies.
- Ensuring all work complies with local, state, and federal codes and industry best practices.
- Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all safety protocols.
- Experience in fire alarm system programming, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with specialized software and equipment and knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing these systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Completion of a degree or certification program in a related field preferred.
- Physical ability to perform the requirements of the job (see Physical Requirements).
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet; working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
- Travel overnight may be required.
