As the Quality Control Inspection Manager, you must be detail-oriented and experienced to oversee our quality control processes and ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations. The Quality Control Inspection Manager will be responsible for monitoring production procedures, training staff on quality expectations, and implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all aspects of the role, including customer support, interdepartmental collaboration, inspection procedures, and compliance with product acceptance requirements.
  • Supervise and manage the Quality Control (QC) department, including oversight of inspectors as required.
  • Provide training and guidance to the QC team to ensure adherence to company quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections on incoming and outgoing products to verify compliance with customer specifications, military standards, industry regulations, and commercial requirements.
  • Utilize inspection tools such as Optical Comparators, Ring Gauges, Plug Gauges, Micrometers, Calipers, and other handheld measuring instruments.
  • Oversee certification processes, including maintenance, storage, retrieval, and requests for certifications.
  • Ensure accurate scanning and electronic storage of product documentation for inspection lot tags.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and manage records for all inspection equipment to ensure precision and compliance.
  • Review AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAIs) for adherence to applicable customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers to ensure product acceptance and satisfaction while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Maintain thorough electronic documentation of all required quality control records.
  • Review Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions and complete standard Part Submission Warrants (PSWs).
  • Support inspection processes by providing acceptance criteria based on industry standards and customer-provided drawings.
  • Conduct hands‑on inspections for both incoming and outgoing products to confirm compliance with specifications.
  • Investigate and manage customer returns related to quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Address and respond to customer corrective action requests in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding rejected products and coordinate replacement material deliveries efficiently.
  • Provide supporting documentation for credit and debit processing related to quality discrepancies.
  • Review internal sales orders to verify adherence to quality requirements.
  • Recommend and implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Utilize multiple systems to accurately and consistently record quality data, meeting all retention requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of quality control activities, ensuring documentation is organized and readily accessible.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by management.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-5 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control processes, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS), ISO standards, and compliance audits.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality control software/tools.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with various departments.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high‑quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, and/or distribution industry.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and process improvement methodologies.
