Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee daily operations within our distribution center. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of supply chain management, and proficiency with warehouse management systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient inventory control, process improvement, and seamless logistics coordination to meet organizational goals. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, managing transportation and freight activities, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse performance.
Duties- Oversee all warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment
- Manage transportation planning and logistics to ensure timely delivery and distribution of products
- Supervise warehouse staff, including dispatching, training, and performance evaluations
- Utilize ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and supply chain analytics tools for operational oversight
- Coordinate with 3PL providers, NVOCCs, and freight carriers to streamline freight and shipping processes
- Implement process improvements using Lean methodologies and continuous improvement strategies
- Manage procurement activities related to materials and supplies necessary for warehouse operations
- Monitor inventory levels through inventory control systems such as AS400 and other supply chain management tools
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, forklift operation standards, and transportation management protocols
- Develop budgets, demand planning strategies, and production planning schedules to optimize resource utilization
- Analyze supply chain data to identify opportunities for process enhancement and cost reduction
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or operations management within the Windows and Doors industry or similar manufacturing sectors
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including inventory management, logistics, procurement, and freight forwarding
- Experience with ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and supply chain analytics tools such as AS400
- Familiarity with lean principles, process improvement methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated ability in transportation planning, fleet management, demand planning, and production scheduling
- Supervisory experience managing teams within a warehouse or distribution environment
- Proficiency with forklift operation certifications preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data related to supply chain performance metrics
