We are currently hiring a WIC CSR Lab Assistant at our Norcross WIC Clinic. This position will focus on taking height, weight and hemoglobin measurements, which are a vital component to the WIC nutrition assessment. This position plays a key role in ensuring a smooth, professional, and welcoming experience for every WIC Client and their families.
Duties include:
- Greet and direct clients with a warm and helpful attitude
- Provide high-level customer service and answer questions
- Perform height, weight and hemoglobin measurements
- Distribute patient information to nutrition staff
- Process information, update client profiles, completes data collection
- Educate participants on WIC rights and responsibilities, nutrition education, and use of benefits
- Conduct interviews and determine if WIC applicants meet the eligibility criteria within the Georgia WIC program
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and supportive clinic environment
- Thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused setting
The WIC CSR Lab Assistant performs only length and weight on infants; and height, weight, and hemoglobin testing utilizing capillary skin puncture or non-invasive pulse oximetry technology on children and women. This individual distributes lab results and confidential patient records to nutrition professionals in a timely and organized manner. Keeps accurate logs of lab supplies, and notifies the manager when an order should be placed.
Responsible for keeping work area neat and disinfected. This position will also be trained to perform WIC intake tasks as needed.
- High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience communicating information in a customer service setting required.
- Experience working in the WIC program, SNAP, Medicaid or other public assistance programs.
- Experience with finger sticks in a lab/clinic setting
- 3 or more years working in an administrative role with scheduling, clerical work, and data entry.
- 3 or more years working
Customer servicein a healthcare, social services, or government setting. - 2 or more years proficient experience using Microsoft products.
- Experience using GRITS, GA WIC, and/or GA Gateway.
- Bi-Lingual – English & Spanish preferred.
- Experience interviewing & assessing eligibility of patients.
