Ray Engineering is seeking a senior‑level Structural Engineer to lead and grow our structural assessment and restoration practice in Florida or Georgia. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with deep experience in building investigations, structural repair design, and capital planning for commercial and multi‑family properties. Florida candidates with experience in Structural Integrity Reserve Studies (SIRS) and Milestone Inspections are highly preferred;
however, experienced forensic and restoration‑focused engineers in Georgia will also be considered. This role combines technical authority, client leadership, and regional growth responsibility.
- Lead complex structural investigations and condition assessments.
- Perform and oversee:
- Structural Integrity Reserve Studies (SIRS) (Florida)
- Milestone Inspections (Florida)
- Property Condition Assessments
- Developer Turnover / Transitional Studies
- Structural forensic investigations
- Develop repair and remediation strategies for reinforced concrete, post‑tensioned systems, foundations, and building envelopes.
- Provide construction administration and contractor coordination.
- Review, QA/QC, and seal engineering reports and repair documents.
- Serve as primary technical contact for HOAs, property managers, developers, attorneys, and commercial owners.
- Support expert witness services and litigation consulting when applicable.
- Partner with leadership to expand structural and restoration services in the region.
- Assist in proposal development and business development efforts.
- Mentor junior engineers and project staff.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, budgets, and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety standards, and company QA protocols.
- Drive project profitability and delivery excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10+ years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on building restoration, remediation, or forensic work.
- Demonstrated experience managing both projects and people.
- Proven ability to cultivate and sustain client relationships.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and leadership skills.
- Business development or “seller‑doer” experience a plus.
