** Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist**, where you'll play a crucial role in shaping a safer, more environmentally sound workplace. You'll collaborate closely with experienced professionals, including the Corporate Safety Manager, Sr. Safety Specialist, and Environmental Lead, to develop and enforce effective strategies that minimize risks and enhance our commitment to EHS standards. This dynamic position offers the chance to make a tangible impact within our organization, ensuring that our operations are not only in compliance but also contribute positively to the well-being of our associates and the environment.

The EHS Specialist independently oversees EHS management at Southeast Toyota Distributors (SET) Parts Distribution Center (PDC) located in Norcross, GA, and provides support to Vehicle Processing and trucking operations based in Commerce, GA. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the Norcross PDC site operations towards continuous improvement of EHS management, including compliance with EHS laws, rules, requirements, and standards.

Reporting to the JM Family Corporate Safety Manager, the individual in this role will support the corporate EHS department’s objectives to prioritize safety through standardization, deployment of best EHS practices, and striving to achieve an incident-free workplace. This role will also have dotted line reporting to SET Operations and is expected to work on-site.
** Responsibilities:
*** Lead, support, and/or participate in multiple EHS projects and administrative functions while working with associates from various levels of the organization.
* Calculate EHS risks and challenge the status quo using analytical data;
Prioritize risks to ensure site operations focus on the highest impact issues.
* Manage partner expectations and work to find mutually agreeable solutions through clear and consistent communication.
* Assist SET Operations with root cause analysis and identify action plans.
* Leverage technology to conduct ergonomic assessments to identify and mitigate risk factors associated with musculoskeletal disorders.
* Manage EHS compliance matters, including agency inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, permits, licenses, and associated recordkeeping activities such as updating written plans, filing, cataloging, and documenting activities.
* Utilize various EHS software solutions to manage day-to-day tasks and initiatives, including incident investigation, trend analysis, chemical inventory, etc.
* Identify opportunities to continuously improve corporate EHS management policies, procedures, written plans, and standard operating procedures;
* Effectively communicate plans, policies, and procedures to associates across all levels of the organization.
* Prepare material, schedule, and conduct EHS training activities.
* Manage external contractors that provide EHS services such as those associated with storage tank inspections, regulated waste pickups, first aid kits, AEDs, etc.
* Develop and deliver presentations, generate effective reports, and conduct applicable research.

*** Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
* 5-7 years of working experience in a related field.
* ASP or CSP preferred, but not required.
* Experience working in a warehouse environment and/or light industrial settings is preferred but not required.
* Working knowledge of federal and local environmental regulations pertaining to air, water, wastewater, stormwater, regulated waste management, storage tank management, and hazardous materials transportation.
* Proficiency in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) General Industry Standards and other health and safety code requirements.
