ICC-Certified CMT Special Inspector (or Engineer)
Location: Norcross, GA or Kennesaw, GA – projects in the Atlanta, GA metropolitan area.
Primary Duties: Work predominantly field‑located performing structural building inspections and QA/QC tests on soils, masonry, reinforced concrete, structural steel, post‑tensioning, and fireproofing. Conduct on‑site observations and inspections to confirm compliance with local building codes and project contract documents, collect and test samples per ASTM, ACI, and other standards, and maintain detailed records of observations, inspections, and test results. Travel may be required.
Qualifications- ICC Certifications in Soils, Structural Concrete, Post‑tensioning, Masonry, Fireproofing (preferred all five; not all required) or a degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university with 2 years of CMT special inspections experience.
- ACI Level I (minimum) for concrete sampling/testing, or ability to obtain.
- Radiation safety training for use of Nuclear Density Gauges, or ability to obtain.
- 5+ years of experience performing multi‑discipline special inspections & tests for ICC‑certified inspectors, or 0–3 years for degreed engineers.
- Ability to read plans and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Valid state driver’s license with clean driving record.
