Retail Sales Associate

Purpose

Floor & Decor’s Sales Associates play a key role in continuously providing customers with friendly, accurate service and support in finding products to complete their project. Our Sales Associates contribute to a fast‑paced, safe environment by keeping sales departments clean and well stocked. Positions are available for both full‑time and part‑time schedules.

• Connect with customers, ask about their projects, recommend our products and excite customers about their purchase.
• Provide above and beyond customer service and exceed customer expectations when assisting customers.
• Maintain the in‑stock condition of assigned areas and ensure it is clean, shoppable and safe.
• Work in cooperation with management and team members to achieve sales goals.
• Process customers at checkout using a point of sale (POS) system.
• Process customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines.
• Follow established cash, check and credit card acceptance procedures.
• Create price tags and merchandise signs; stock, tag and display merchandise.
• Act and work in a manner consistent with the company’s core values.
• Demonstrate and understand compliance with the company’s safety processes.
• Answer telephone calls according to the company guidelines.
• Be available to assist in other areas of the store as needed.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment with accuracy.

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Basic math skills.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
• Some positions may require completion of forklift certifications through F&D.
• For positions requiring heavy equipment, a successful drug test may be required.

• Occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level is typically quiet to moderate.

• Ability to exert 30–60 pounds of force occasionally; 20–30 pounds frequently; and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle or feel items.
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
