The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOTPF) Northern Region Highways & Aviation is looking for an EQUIPMENT OPERATOR JOURNEY 1/2/3 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

SALARY INFORMATION

Equipment Operator Journey 1 - $31.62
Equipment Operator Journey 2 - $33.44
Equipment Operator Lead/Journey 3 - $35.53

What You Will Be Doing
  • Maintain state highways, airports, seaplane floats, bridges, and docks to ensure safe and operable conditions, including snow and ice control, pavement repair, brushing, drainage, and traffic control, such as flagging.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of light and heavy equipment such as plow trucks, loaders, graders, sweepers, and specialized airport vehicles.
  • Perform airport operations tasks including runway inspections, friction testing, issuing NOTAMs, and ensuring FAA certification compliance.
  • Provide Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) support, including stand‑by duties, training, certification, and equipment maintenance.
  • Conduct airport security and wildlife management activities in compliance with FAA, TSA, and State regulations.
