Laboratory Technician

Job Description:

- Conduct routine and specialized testing of leather samples as per ISO, BIS, ASTM, REACH, and customer-specific standards.
Perform tests such as thickness, tensile strength, tear strength, color fastness, abrasion resistance, pH, chromium content, and other chemical analyses.
Accurately record observations, calculations, and test results in laboratory registers and systems.
Prepare clear, precise, and timely test reports as per laboratory formats and accreditation requirements.
Handle laboratory equipment, instruments, and chemicals with strict adherence to safety protocols.
Ensure calibration, validation, and routine maintenance of lab instruments.
Maintain proper sample identification, traceability, and storage practices.
Follow laboratory SOPs, quality manuals, and accreditation guidelines (ISO/IEC 17025, if applicable).
Support internal audits, external audits, and customer inspections when required.
Coordinate with the customer service or technical team to clarify test requirements and timelines.

Required

Qualification:

- Diploma /

B.Sc. / M.Sc/B.Tech. in Leather Technology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
Certification or formal training in leather testing is an added advantage.

Experience:

- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a leather testing laboratory.
Freshers with relevant academic exposure may be considered for junior roles.
