Job Summary
The Production Process Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing electronic manufacturing processes for products such as Battery Management Systems (BMS), EV chargers, IoT devices, and more. This role ensures process efficiency, product quality, and safety compliance while collaborating with multiple departments including R&D, Quality, and Production.
Key Responsibilities
Process Design and Optimization
Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception to start-up and certification.
Analyze and optimize electrical manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
Design and implement systems to automate processes and reduce manual work.
Conduct process simulations, risk assessments, and implement preventive measures.
Document manufacturing processes, SOPs, and work instructions; train production operators on assembly, quality, and safety protocols.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Collect, analyze, and interpret data to understand process performance.
Generate detailed reports, dashboards, and process documentation to inform decision-making.
Quality Control
Establish and enforce quality control standards.
Collaborate with QA teams to identify and resolve defects and deviations.
Equipment Maintenance
Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of production equipment.
Develop and publish comprehensive troubleshooting guides for FCT, PDI, and other testing fixtures.
Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations across EMS locations.
Continuous Improvement
Drive initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, and process reliability.
Develop and execute action plans to resolve process-related challenges.
Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Production, and Quality.
Report progress, propose process improvements, and ensure workflow efficiency
Compliance and Safety
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Develop and maintain safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment 4
Supply Chain Coordination
Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams for timely delivery of components and materials.
Evaluate supplier performance and recommend improvements or cost-saving opportunities.
Educational Background
Required
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field).
Experience
6–10 years in electronic manufacturing or production engineering.
Proven expertise in process optimization, quality control, and continuous improvement.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation, and control systems.
Thorough understanding of production documents: PFD, Control Plan, PFMEA, and PAPP.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
