About the role :

As a Principal in the Data & AI organization, you will  shape the future of intelligent enterprises  by leveraging the power of  data, cloud, and Agentic AI . Your mission is to  transform pharma and life sciences through AI-driven insights and automation , enabling faster innovation, better patient outcomes, and operational excellence. You will be a  strategic advisor, a technology evangelist, and a leader of change , driving the next wave of digital transformation and positioning our organization as a global thought leader in Data & AI.

You will spearhead P&L ownership, drive strategic growth initiatives, and scale high-impact AI/ML and agentic system deployments across commercial, medical, and clinical domains for global life sciences clients. This executive-track role blends client engagement, consultative sales, solution innovation, and global delivery leadership.

Key Responsibilities
P&L Ownership & Strategic Growth
Own and manage a portfolio P&L of $50M+ with accountability for revenue growth, gross margins, and delivery excellence.
Lead BD pursuits with top-20 global pharmaceutical clients; craft enterprise data & AI solutions tailored to brand strategy, GTM, RWE, and patient engagement.
Develop and convert pipeline opportunities ($10M+) by aligning client priorities with Axtria’s data & AI offerings. Lead consulting engagements to win new business opportunities in pharma and life sciences.
Influence account strategy, pricing models, investment cases, and strategic alliances.
Partner with senior stakeholders to define data and AI strategies aligned with business objectives.
Develop compelling proposals and thought leadership content to differentiate offerings in the market.

Client Advisory & Large Scale Delivery
Serve as executive sponsor for complex client engagements—shaping solution vision, engagement design, and business impact realization.
Advise VP/CXO-level stakeholders on data & AI platforms, AI/GenAI strategy, analytics modernization, and operating model transformation.
Oversee solution delivery of large-scale data and AI programs ensuring scientific rigor, innovation velocity, and commercial impact.
Drive adoption of cloud-native architectures, modern data platforms, and AI/Agentic AI solutions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, data governance, and security protocols.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
Build and mentor high-performing teams across data engineering, analytics, and AI disciplines.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Foster a high-performance culture anchored in continuous learning, ethical AI, and measurable impact.
IP, Innovation and Thought Leadership
Lead the development of next-gen agentic architectures that support autonomous decisioning, adaptive learning loops, and personalized interventions.
Contribute to the firm’s IP portfolio through thought leadership, open-source tooling, and platform accelerators.
Represent the organization at industry forums, conferences, and client workshops. Publish whitepapers, blogs, and POVs on emerging trends in AI, data management, and pharma analytics.
Act as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives on AI-driven transformation.

Required Skills & Experience
18+ years in data management, AI/ML consulting, or digital transformation, with a minimum of 10 years focused on life sciences or healthcare.
Bachelor’s degree a must w/ master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
