Sr Data Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking for a  Data Engineer  to join our growing engineering team and help

shape the core data infrastructure that powers the Datalogz platform. You will be

responsible for building and maintaining reliable, scalable data pipelines that

integrate metadata and usage information from leading BI platforms such as

Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, and Spotfire .

This role is ideal for someone who loves working with complex datasets,

optimizing performance, and ensuring data consistency across systems. You'll

work closely with backend engineers, product managers, and data scientists to

deliver trusted, analytics-ready data that drives product insights and customer

outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines  that

unify data across BI tools and sources.

Develop and optimize workflows using  Airflow (MWAA) , ensuring reliability

and efficiency across ETL jobs.

Use  DBT  and  SQL  to model data and create scalable, maintainable

transformations for analytics and lineage insights.

Collaborate with backend and product teams to ensure data quality, schema

design, and integration with customer-facing systems.

Work with large datasets stored in  Snowflake  and  Postgre

SQL , focusing on

performance, normalization, and maintainability.

Build internal frameworks for  metadata tracking, lineage extraction, and

connector performance analytics.

Participate in defining data architecture and governance standards that

improve data accessibility, reliability, and compliance.

Troubleshoot, optimize, and document ETL processes to support long-term

maintainability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or

related field  preferred.

3–6 years  of experience as a  Data Engineer  or in a similar data-focused role.

Strong proficiency in  SQL  and  Python , with experience building and

maintaining ETL pipelines.

Experience with  DBT ,  Airflow (MWAA) , and modern data orchestration tools.

Hands-on experience with  Snowflake ,  Postgre

SQL , or equivalent cloud data

warehouses.

Familiarity with  metadata management ,  data lineage , or  analytics

observability  concepts.

Understanding of  data modeling best practices , schema evolution, and data

validation.

Exposure to  BI platforms  (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or Spotfire) is a strong plus.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working in a

remote-first, fast-paced startup  environment.
