Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Formulate and execute a comprehensive strategy for online learning and distance programs that aligns with the university's mission and long-term objectives.
Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in online education to guide strategic decision-making.
Partner with academic departments to create and enhance online courses, certifications, and degree programs.
Program Development & Quality Assurance:
Supervise the creation, enhancement, and continuous improvement of online courses and programs, ensuring they meet industry standards and maintain academic quality.
Ensure all online programs comply with accreditation and academic standards.
Set and enforce rigorous quality assurance protocols for online courses and programs in alignment with accreditation and statutory requirements.
Implement ongoing assessment and evaluation methods to improve online educational offerings.
Faculty Development:
Provide leadership and support to faculty teaching online, offering training, mentorship, and continuous professional development.
Develop and execute training programs to improve the teaching effectiveness of online instructors.
Encourage professional growth for all staff involved in online learning.
Student Success:
Implement initiatives that improve student engagement, retention, and overall satisfaction in online learning environments.
Collaborate with student services to ensure that online students have access to necessary resources, academic advising, and other forms of support.
Address and resolve challenges related to online student engagement and success.
Technology Integration:
Collaborate with IT teams to integrate innovative tools and technologies that enhance the online learning experience.
Oversee the selection and adoption of user-friendly platforms that support online learning.
Marketing & Recruitment:
Work closely with marketing and admissions teams to promote online programs and attract a diverse student body.
Develop and implement strategies to recruit online learners.
Data Analytics & Reporting:
Use data analytics to track key performance indicators for online education and generate reports on the program's effectiveness.
Apply insights from data to make informed decisions that improve the online learning experience.
Prepare reports for government agencies and represent the university to secure necessary approvals for UGC-recognized online and distance learning programs.
Qualifications:
PH.D + MBA/PGDM in Any Specialization.
At least 15 years of experience, 3-5 + years in leadership positions within higher education, with a focus on online or distance learning.
Proven success in managing and developing online education programs.
In-depth knowledge of instructional design, learning technologies, and best practices in online education.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Strong strategic thinking and innovation skills, with the ability to lead and drive change within the organization.
Familiarity with online education regulations, accreditation processes, and quality assurance protocols.
