We’re looking for a  seasoned newsroom professional  to lead our  English News Podcast vertical  — someone who can transform daily headlines into  sharp, insightful, and credible conversations  that engage digital audiences.

As  News Editor – Podcast , you will drive the entire editorial lifecycle of our podcasts — from  ideation and guest curation to recording, narrative structure, and final publishing.

Role Overview
The  News Editor – Podcast  will lead the editorial strategy and execution for our English podcast segment within the digital vertical.
This role requires  deep newsroom experience, strong editorial authority, and exceptional storytelling ability  to produce podcasts that deliver  clarity, credibility, and impact.
You will work closely with anchors, reporters, and subject-matter experts to build  high-quality news podcasts that inform, explain, and engage audiences.

Key Responsibilities
Editorial Leadership & Ideation

• Drive  podcast ideation aligned with major national and global news developments

• Identify  sharp, relevant, and high-impact themes  for daily and weekly episodes

• Ensure  strong editorial depth, analytical rigour, and clarity of narrative

• Maintain  balance, neutrality, and journalistic credibility  across all content
Guest Line-up & Research

• Conceptualize and curate  high-quality guest line-ups  including policymakers, analysts, journalists, and domain experts

• Conduct  in-depth research and editorial background preparation  for every episode

• Prepare  structured editorial briefs  for anchors and contributors

• Ensure all  facts, data points, and references are verified and newsroom compliant
Production & Post-Production (Editorial Ownership)

• Supervise podcast recordings to ensure  tone, pace, and editorial sharpness

• Guide the editorial style of episodes —  conversational, narrative-driven, debate-based, or explainer formats

• Ensure post-production aligns with  editorial intent, narrative flow, and audio clarity

• Approve  final cuts before publishing

• Optimize  titles, descriptions, and metadata  for digital discoverability

Key Requirements

• 8+ years of hardcore newsroom experience  (TV / Digital / Print)

• Exceptional  spoken and written English communication skills

• Strong  editorial judgment and deep understanding of national and international affairs

• Experience in  long-form storytelling, analytical formats, and narrative journalism

• Ability to translate complex news into  clear, engaging audio storytelling

• High standards of  editorial integrity, verification, and fact-checking discipline
