Themed Environment Designer & Concept Artist

We are looking for a highly creative themed environment designer and illustrator to develop concepts for sets, theme parks, landscapes, and indoor themed spaces. This person will translate the CEO’s reference inputs and ideas into visually compelling designs, mood boards, and concept art that can guide the execution and fabrication teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop concept art, sketches, and illustrations for themed sets, parks, landscapes, indoor experiences, and installations based on inputs and references from the CEO.
- Create mood boards, color palettes, and visual narratives that capture the story, theme, and guest experience for each project.
- Translate abstract ideas and storylines into clear visual directions for architects, landscape designers, and fabricators.
- Prepare presentation boards, key visuals, and renderings for internal reviews and client presentations.
- Iterate on designs quickly in response to feedback from the CEO and project team, refining detail, style, and composition.
- Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to ensure concepts are aesthetically strong, thematically consistent, and practically buildable.
- Maintain a strong reference library of visual styles, themes, and precedent images relevant to theme parks, resorts, landscapes, and attractions.

Qualifications and Skills

- Degree or diploma in Fine Arts, Illustration, Animation, Architecture, Themed Entertainment Design, or related field (or strong portfolio-based experience).
- 3+ years of experience as a concept artist, environment designer, themed entertainment designer, or set designer (theme parks, experiential spaces, gaming, film, or events).
- Strong 2D illustration skills (hand sketching + digital) with proficiency in tools such as Photoshop, Procreate, Illustrator, or similar.

- - Ability to design environments, landscapes, and interiors with a good sense of composition, atmosphere, and storytelling.
- Experience creating clear visual briefs and turnarounds that other designers, engineers, and fabricators can follow.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working closely with a CEO/creative lead, taking reference images, verbal cues, and mood directions and turning them into strong concepts.

Preferred Attributes

- Prior work on theme parks, museums, experiential retail, themed F&B, resorts, or attraction projects.
- Basic understanding of practical constraints (scale, guest flow, safety, materials) so designs are imaginative but realistic to build.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating themed worlds, sets, environments, props, and mood illustrations.
