Plant Maintenance Technician II

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Plant Maintenance Technician is to perform general building repairs, basic utility installation and preventive maintenance tasks of plant facilities

• Ability to perform all aspects of Plant Maintenance
• Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks
• Dismantle, move, install or repair machinery and mechanical equipment
• Layout, assemble, install, test, repair and adjust electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment and wiring
• Ensure that all work conforms with requirements of all applicable codes
• Install power and air drops to equipment
• General pipe fitting work
• Remove snow from walkways and steps using all means provided and necessary
• Makes sure that general supplies are maintained and well stocked and kept in an orderly fashion
• Assumes leadership role in department and helps guide lesser experienced individuals to prepare them for higher level positions
• Keep maintenance areas clean and organized; ensure tools and equipment are stored properly
• Respond to service requests and work orders as assigned
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols
• Escort vendors or contractors as required and assist with setup for projects or repairs
• Additional duties as assigned by Maintenance Group Leader commensurate with experience and skills

• Physical demands require the person to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• The person is frequently required to lift 50 pounds or greater, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to hear and talk.
• The work environment will expose employee to the following elements:
  Noise, Heat, Cold, Dust, Oil, Grease

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• 3-5 years prior Plant Maintenance experience
