Providing specialized nursing care in a Surgical Progressive Care Unit (SPCU) requires experience, dedication, and strong clinical skills. This opportunity focuses on caring for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients, ensuring they receive exceptional stepdown/progressive care in a well-established healthcare environment.

This position is based in Noblesville, IN, at a renowned health facility known for its commitment to quality patient care and advanced clinical services. The Surgical Progressive Care Unit houses 23 beds, with patient-to-nurse ratios averaging 1:3 to 1:4, enabling attentive and personalized care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to stepdown patients recovering from cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries.
• Utilize clinical judgment to monitor and manage patient conditions within the SPCU.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Accurately document patient information utilizing the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Maintain compliance with all required certifications and hospital policies.
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as part of the unit schedule.
• Be prepared to float between stepdown or other progressive care units, as needed.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years of stepdown/progressive care experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Proficiency or prior experience with EPIC EMR is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex patients in a 1:3 or 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio setting.
• Excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and adaptability to a dynamic care environment.

Schedule and Contract Details:

• Day shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Weekend rotation approximately every third weekend; holiday rotation applies.
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
• This is a contract position offering valuable hands-on experience in a specialized unit.
