Overview

As a Behavior Technician at BACA, you’ll have the role of helping children with autism learn, grow, and build communication, socialization, and self-help skills through a form of play-based therapy known as applied behavior analysis (ABA).

Responsibilities- Work with children with autism in centers, focusing on ABA-based goals to improve communication, socialization, and self-help skills.
- Learn and apply ABA techniques, under supervision, to support client progress.
- Engage in play-based therapy to support development and behavior growth.
- Meet the minimum age requirement of 18 (on or before the first day of employment).
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Availability to work a consistent weekly schedule mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings.
- The ability to pass a background check.
- Education requirements:
High School Diploma/GED. - Transportation requirements:
Reliable transportation (Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle preferred). - Schedule requirements:
Mon-Fri availability, with specific shifts (example: 11:30 am–4:45 pm). - Earn starting pay at $17/hr and up with experience; become eligible to earn RBT certification.
- Preferred additional qualifications (plus): bi-lingual English/Spanish; study in psychology, education, special education, childcare, behavioral health, health science, or related field; prior childcare or related experience.
- If you work full-time, you can earn up to 15 days of paid time off (PTO) after 90 days of employment.
- If you work part-time, you are eligible for sick leave.

Working with kids 2–7 or 7–22 with autism and special needs in one of our centers is typical for this role. Physical requirements vary and are based on specific client assignments. You may be asked to engage in activities that involve push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds and to move quickly as needed by client requirements. It is necessary to be able to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run.
