Patient Care Technician Med/Surg Full Time days 5a-5:30p

We’re seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to support patient care in our Med/Surg unit. Duties involve routine patient hygiene, basic clinical testing, and close coordination with nursing staff to ensure smooth care delivery.

• Observe, document, and communicate significant findings and procedure results to the Registered Nurse, minimizing delays in patient care.
• Document patient care data on appropriate forms and within the electronic patient chart, adhering to legal and procedural requirements.
• Assist patients with routine hygienic, nutritional, and comfort needs, including bathing, feeding, ambulation, oral care, and toileting.
• Perform routine clinical tests such as vital signs, hot/cold packs, input/output documentation, weighing, bladder ultrasound, and suction setup.
• Function as testing personnel under CLIA 1988 regulations for point‑of‑care testing, if applicable.
• Provide basic nursing support, including responding to call lights, transporting patients and specimens, and assisting with transfers and range‑of‑motion exercises.
• Assist physicians and other team members with treatments and procedures as directed.
• Manage unit support tasks, such as answering the phone, retrieving supplies, and maintaining a clean, orderly environment.
• Serve as a patient sitter under nursing supervision to ensure safety of patients identified as a risk of self‑harm or harm to others.
• Perform care activities within the CNA/Student Nurse Tech scope of practice under patient supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum:
  None.
• Preferred:
  One (1) year in a hospital environment as a CNA.

• Basic Life Safety within 90 days of hire (American Heart Association).
