Your Role as the Certified Medication Aide (CMA / L1MA)
Memory Care | Missouri
Americare Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Medication Aide (CMA / Level One Medication Aide – L1MA) to support residents in our Assisted Living Memory Care communities in Missouri.
In this role, you’ll safely administer medications under the supervision of licensed staff while providing hands-on support with daily living activities. You’ll help maintain a safe, structured, and home-like environment for residents living with memory loss, while offering support to families and visitors.
Summary
The Certified Medication Aide (CMA / L1MA) is responsible for administering medications in accordance with Missouri state regulations while assisting residents with activities of daily living in a Memory Care setting.
This role functions as part of an interdisciplinary care team and plays a vital role in supporting resident safety, routine, dignity, and quality of life.
This role may also be known as:
Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Medication Technician (CMT), Med Aide, Level One Medication Aide (L1MA), or Medication Assistant.
What You’ll Do
- Administer prescribed medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff in accordance with Missouri regulations
- Verify resident identity prior to medication administration and document dosage, time, and observations
- Monitor residents for medication responses and promptly report adverse reactions or concerns
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility
- Accurately observe, record, and report resident care, conditions, concerns, and food intake/output
- Recognize and report changes in resident condition to charge staff
- Complete admission, discharge, and transfer documentation as required
- Support coworkers by providing assistance as needed
- Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident rooms and common areas
- Answer phone calls, greet visitors, and assist with tours of the community as needed
