The Caterpillar Think BIG Program is a sponsored education program to grow future Caterpillar Mechanics. The program is provided in partnership with Mac Allister Machinery, Owens Community College in Ohio, and Caterpillar Inc. The successful student will complete a 2‑year Associate Degree in Caterpillar Dealer Technician/Diesel Technician Program, as well as multiple paid internships, ultimately graduating with little to no debt depending on grades attained.

The program is a partnership with Mac Allister Machinery, Owens Community College in Ohio, and Caterpillar Inc. Students complete coursework and internships over two years.

• Spend 8 weeks in school, learning theory and taking hands‑on courses to become a Caterpillar Dealership Technician.
• Spend the next 8 weeks at a local Caterpillar Dealer doing a paid internship, applying theory to real‑world situations.
• The course will take two years to complete.
• Throughout the program students work on tasks such as electronics, diagnostics, engines and transmissions, hydraulics, and general education subjects such as mathematics.

• Program reimburses per‑semester schooling cost, depending on grades.
• Associate Degree in Diesel Technology upon completion.
• No student debt.
• Successful career as a Caterpillar Dealer Technician.

• Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Complete online application.
• Send a portfolio to m that includes: a 300‑word statement of career goals, three reference letters from teachers, counselors, or former employers, clear record of attendance in the final year of school, results from Accuplacer Test or ACT, and complete a Mechanical Aptitude Test administered by Mac Allister.

Portfolio submissions are due March 30th.
