Procurement Manager - Michigan - Chemicals​/Coatings Industry

The HT Group is partnering with a manufacturing organization in Michigan to hire a Procurement Manager
. This role oversees raw material and packaging procurement, supplier performance, cost control, and supply continuity. The position is highly visible and instrumental in protecting margin, driving savings, and supporting operational efficiency in a fast‑paced production environment.

Location: Niles, MI – Onsite

Compensation: Salary + Bonus + Benefits

• 5+ years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
• Raw materials sourcing experience strongly preferred (Chemical or Coatings industry a plus)
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills
• ERP system experience and advanced Excel proficiency
• Ability to balance hands‑on execution with strategic cost management
• Strong communication skills and cross‑functional influence

• Improve procurement processes, documentation, and discipline
• Manage day‑to‑day purchasing of raw materials and packaging
• Lead supplier negotiations for pricing, terms, and service levels
• Own supplier performance, KPIs, and supply risk mitigation
• Drive cost savings and margin improvement initiatives
• Analyze material usage and pricing to identify cost opportunities
• Support inventory turns and working capital goals
• Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Planning, R&D, Quality, and Finance
