Sr. Cost Accountant Manager – Niles, MI
Salary: $95,000 ‒ $115,000 annually
CFS is partnering with a growing company in Niles to hire a Sr. Cost Accountant Manager
This Sr. Cost Accountant Manager will lead cost accounting operations, manage variance analysis, oversee inventory valuation, and provide insights that drive profitability
The right Sr. Cost Accountant Manager will excel in a leadership role, enjoy mentoring cost accounting staff, and be hands-on with financial data and process improvements
Position is fully in-office in Niles, MI
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Lead monthly and quarterly cost accounting close, including materials, labor, overhead, and inventory cost reconciliation
Perform detailed variance analyses (actual vs standard) and recommend corrective actions
Oversee cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting, product costing, and margin analysis
Manage inventory valuation methods and physical inventory reconciliations
Develop and maintain internal controls related to costing, inventory, and manufacturing operations
Partner with production, purchasing, operations and finance teams to optimize cost structure and cost flows
Mentor, train, and supervise cost accounting staff; ensure consistency and accuracy of cost accounting practices
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
5+ years of progressive cost accounting / manufacturing accounting experience, including supervisory or lead responsibilities
Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in variance analysis, product costing, inventory accounting
Experience using major ERP or cost accounting systems; strong Excel skills mandatory
Excellent communication skills; able to present cost findings to leadership and non-finance teams
