Guest Advocate (Cashier) role. Help guests shop quickly and easily across General Merchandise, Fulfillment, Food & Beverage, and Style departments.
Starting hourly rate: $17.25 per hour. Pay range: $17.25 to $25.90 per hour.
About On-DemandAs an On-Demand Team Member (TM), you set your own schedule by picking up shifts posted on the myTime mobile app. Attendance must be reliable and prompt. You must work at least one shift within five months or your employment may be terminated.
Service & EngagementAdvocates greet and thank guests, exceed service expectations, and support in-store and digital services. Responsibilities include managing guest checkout, drive‑up, pick‑up, order compliance, and store cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes guest experience.
- Create a welcoming experience and greet guests as you complete tasks.
- Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs.
- Be knowledgeable about store products, services, and tools.
- Thank guests and express appreciation for shopping at Target.
- Scan and bag all guest items efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain efficient wait times while upholding guest service and accuracy.
- Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, events, and store activities.
- Explain and enroll guests in Target Loyalty programs and other promotions.
- Show guests how to use the Target App, Wallet, and fulfillment services.
- Attempt every return and follow register prompts with leader support if needed.
- Partner with leaders to de‑escalate situations and recover the guest experience.
- Deliver service to Order Pick‑Up, Drive‑Up, and Registry guests.
- Keep work area clean and free of clutter, including abandoned items.
- Stock supplies during open hours and remain available for guests.
- Adhere to all safety policies, best practices, and training.
- Support compliance for adult beverage laws and cash‑office processes.
- Perform any other duties as required by business needs.
- Enjoy interacting with guests and team members.
- Thrive in a fast‑moving, physically demanding environment.
- Can work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
- Communicate effectively, use positive language, and attend to guest needs.
- Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced setting.
- Show a welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and peers.
- Pay attention to detail while multi‑tasking.
- Educate guests and engage around products and services.
- Use handheld scanners and multi‑frequency devices as directed.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Accurately handle cash register operations and support cash office functions.
- Lift and move merchandise up to 10 pounds routinely and up to 44 pounds with assistance.
- Flexibility in picking up shifts, especially during nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Respond promptly to contact attempts and work at least one shift within five months.
- Work in varied temperatures, humidity, and other conditions required for drive‑up or carry‑out.
- Maintain mobility throughout scheduled shifts.
Selected candidates will attend a Target Welcome orientation and complete short‑term structured training before picking up shifts via the myTime app.
