Business Analyst – RPA/Automation
Lisbon based – hybrid (1 day per week ideal, not mandatory). Up to ₠40,000.
I’m supporting the build‑out of a European RPA function for an organisation that already has a mature UK Automation Centre of Excellence. The UK team has delivered just shy of 100 automations and Europe is now the next focus area.
This role is critical. They don’t just need a generic BA; they need someone who understands RPA properly and can identify what is genuinely suitable for automation before it ever reaches a developer.
What you’ll be doingYou’ll work across multiple European branches, running scouting workshops, building relationships and educating the business on what RPA can and cannot do. In the early stages, a big part of the role will be opportunity identification and stakeholder engagement.
You’ll assess processes, challenge assumptions, calculate feasibility and ROI, and create structured documentation aligned to the UK CoE standards. You’ll then work closely with the developer to ensure requirements are translated correctly and remain involved through build, testing and deployment.
This is not a "write the doc and disappear" role. You’ll be embedded in the lifecycle and will help drive adoption and change across Europe.
You’ll report into the European lead with a dotted line into the UK CoE and will be part of a structured governance process. Everything goes through business and technical approval before development begins.
There’s real scope here for someone who wants to grow into leadership as the European team expands.
What they’re looking for- 3+ years experience in Business Analysis or process improvement
- Ideally have some direct exposure to RPA. You need to understand automation capability, not just process mapping
- Strong stakeholder management skills. This role is relationship heavy
- Ability to run workshops and challenge processes constructively
- Clear, structured documentation skills
- Stable career history
- Experience with UiPath, Blue Prism or Automation Anywhere
- Experience working in a Centre of Excellence model
- Exposure to AI tools alongside RPA
They’re not looking for someone purely technical or purely theoretical. They want someone who can build relationships, influence change and bring energy to a growing European function.
Salary is to around the ₠40,000 mark (gross annual). You must have the full right to work in Portugal.
