JOB SUMMARYThe postholder will assist in the monitoring and reporting of financial information, and provision of costing and benchmarking, to support decision making within the Trust: collating, analysing, interpreting and presenting high quality information, considering the use of new technologies, in particular to improve usability and accessibility of information for non-finance managers. This post will have a special responsibility for Elective Care, in particular, Waiting List Initiatives.
KEYDUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Delivery
- Support the Trust's Elective Care Waiting List Initiatives with regards to costing, modelling and monitoring. Assist with the production of person level costs for both hospital and community sectors, required by the Department of Health/SPPG, working to ensure cost information is accurate, timely, accessible and relevant.
- Support the development of the regional costing system to realise the full potential for the Trust.
- The post holder will provide costing information and advice to support in the development of patient level costing, supporting the Band 6 Finance Officer and other senior colleagues across the Organisation.
- Assist in developing close links with service and Information staff to obtain and develop the activity information required to support costing.
- Support the production of returns to external income providers such as Supporting People.
- 4 years' experience of extraction, analysis and presentation of a range of data from a complex database/dataset using analysis and query tools in a practical work environment.
- Diploma for Accounting Technicians (ATI) or equivalent (Level 5 qualification) with 2 years' experience of extraction, analysis and presentation of a range of data from a complex database/dataset using analysis and query tools in a practical work environment.
- An honours degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Information Technology or other discipline.
Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by The Organisation which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
