Mervyn Stewart are a thriving and exciting company with a track record of success and growth. We are constantly growing our business and have exciting opportunities for a Trainee Parts Advisor to join our After Sales Team in Mervyn Stewart, with positions available in Belfast and Conlig showrooms.

We are looking for a motivated and organised Trainee. This is an entry‑level position designed for someone looking to build a long‑term career in the automotive industry. Full training will be provided.

You will support the day‑to‑day operation of the Parts Department, learning how to identify, order, receive and supply vehicle parts while delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

In every aspect of our retailing, the aim is always to exceed customer expectation and so customer care is of paramount importance. Within this role you will be helping lead from the front to ensure that our customers receive the best possible After Sales experience.

Communication is key within our dealership, not only to ensure a 5‑star customer experience but to build solid working relationships with suppliers, customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle customer enquiries in a variety of forms in a polite and professional manner, providing service to the highest standard that customers can trust.
  • Learn to identify parts using electronic catalogues.
  • Assist technicians and service advisors by supplying correct parts in a timely manner.
  • Assist with ordering, booking in and issuing parts.
  • Support stock control activities including stock checks, stock rotation and housekeeping.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Develop product knowledge across vehicles, parts and accessories.
  • Learn department processes, procedures and compliance standards.
  • Accurately update parts records on the DMS.
  • Complete manufacturer and in‑house training as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised parts department, following H&S guidelines.
  • Adhere to company and manufacturer standards.

  • Strong interest in the motor industry.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and take instruction.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Reliable, punctual and well organised.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • IT skills.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths, ITC and English preferably).
Desired Criteria
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C or above, including Maths, ITC and English preferable.
  • Previous customer service or retail experience.
  • Interest in vehicles or mechanical knowledge.
  • Own transport to work.
