Practice Nurse Medical Practice

Responsibilities

• Chronic disease management (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD)
• Assessment and treatment of minor illness, minor ailments, and injuries
• Clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care
• Preventative healthcare and health promotion
• Safe clinical decision-making and contribution to policy implementation
• Collaborative working within the general practice team

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join our supportive multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician who enjoys working autonomously while delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.

The role is suited to a nurse with significant hands‑on experience in primary care, general practice or community nursing, who is comfortable managing patients independently while contributing to a collaborative clinical team.

Newtown Medical Practice is a friendly, forward‑thinking GP surgery providing high‑quality care to over 13,500 patients. Based in modern, purpose‑built premises, we work with the latest clinical systems, including EMIS Web and Docman 10. The practice is located in the market town of Newtown on the beautiful Shropshire/Powys border, offering an attractive rural environment with good links to the national motorway network and access to larger urban areas such as Shrewsbury, Chester and Birmingham within a reasonable drive time.
