Overview
We are looking to recruit a graduate who is enthusiastic about progressing and developing their skills as part of our friendly, experienced equine ambulatory team. This role will give you the opportunity to work as a veterinary surgeon in first opinion practice with full backup and support from experienced colleagues, including an RCVS Advanced Practitioner. Bringing your cases into the well-equipped clinic for further workup with the support of the experienced team and our excellent facilities is encouraged.
The Equine team includes qualified RVNs and experienced technicians who are available for support on the road where required, a Principal Clinical Veterinarian and two equine veterinary clinicians.
- Work as a veterinary surgeon in first opinion practice with full backup and support from experienced colleagues.
- Present cases at the clinic for further workup with the support of the team and facilities, as encouraged.
- Collaborate with the Equine team, including RVNs, technicians, a Principal Clinical Veterinarian and two equine veterinary clinicians, for on-road and clinic-based support as required.
- Participate in teaching clinical students alongside clinical work, with practical teaching sessions and other teaching opportunities available.
- Be involved in relevant clinical research when appropriate, though this is not essential.
- Engage in ongoing training opportunities, such as teaching qualifications or working towards a certificate or advanced practitioner status.
- Participate in case discussions and optionally join journal clubs.
- Share practice vehicles for work use and be willing to undertake a driver assessment if successful.
- Participate in the out-of-hours rota with extra remuneration provided.
- Completed a veterinary degree registerable with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
There are opportunities for further training in areas of interest, such as teaching qualifications or working towards a certificate or advanced practitioner status. Case discussion is encouraged, and there is the opportunity to participate in journal clubs if you wish to.
