Overview

We are delighted to offer a Ward Clerk opportunity for a well-organised individual to join Ward G5 on our Transplant Unit. This post within the Transplant Unit is predominantly based on Ward G5, a 28 bedded Transplant Ward, specialising in renal, liver, pancreas and multi-organ transplants. However you will provide support to F5 also, which is a 5 bedded transplant high dependency area.,

Meet and receive patients, visitors and other members of staff to the ward in a polite, courteous and professional manner.

Answer the telephone and relay accurate messages as appropriate. Maintain effective communications between patients, their relatives and the team within the department. Liaise with all members of the multi professional team to ensure effective communications are maintained within the department and with other areas in the Trust. Report complaints or concerns to the nurse in charge. Assist in the orientation of new staff to the ward within the ward clerk remit.

Be responsible for ensuring that the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of patients, relatives and colleagues is respected at all times. Keeping Epic System up to date re capacity (admissions, discharges, transfers etc). You must be able to work both independently and within a team. You will provide an efficient and effective administration service for the Ward. You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise your workload and work well under pressure.

You must be willing to learn, and work proactively on your own initiative. You should have excellent verbal, written, IT and customer care skills with a good understanding and practical experience of Microsoft applications. You must be able to uphold our Values of Together, Safe, Kind, and Excellent at all times

This is a part-time position working 24 hours per week across Monday, Thursday and Friday.
