Position SummaryThe Senior Project Manager - Roofing plays a critical leadership role in the execution and oversight of large-scale roofing projects within Lemus Construction’s multifamily division. This position blends hands‑on field supervision with growing responsibilities in operations management.
You will lead the day‑to‑day execution of multifamily shingle roofing projects, supervising crews, coordinating logistics, and ensuring quality and safety. At the same time, you will be trained under the current Roofing Operations Manager to progressively take on broader operational leadership. The goal is for this Senior Project Manager to grow into the Roofing Operations Manager role.
This position requires a proactive, organized, and accountable leader who thrives in fast‑paced environments and brings strong communication and decision‑making skills to the table. Projects are complex, high‑volume, and time‑sensitive, requiring someone who can lead from the field while learning to manage at scale.
Key Responsibilities Project Execution & Jobsite LeadershipLead daily on‑site operations for active multifamily roofing projects.
Supervise multiple crews and subcontractors across concurrent job sites.
Coordinate and communicate daily goals, expectations, and schedules with crew leads.
Conduct site prep, pre‑construction walkthroughs, and final close‑out inspections.
Monitor installation quality and ensure strict adherence to project specs and company standards.
Proactively resolve jobsite issues and elevate to the Roofing Operations Manager when necessary.
Ensure all job sites remain clean, organized, and safe from start to finish.
Scheduling & LogisticsSupport or lead scheduling of material deliveries, dumpsters, equipment, and site access.
Coordinate logistics with suppliers, internal teams, and property managers to ensure smooth job flow.
Track material usage and inventory to avoid delays and reduce waste.
Ensure crews have access to all necessary tools, equipment, and resources for daily production.
Safety & ComplianceEnforce OSHA and company‑specific safety standards across all projects.
Conduct jobsite safety inspections and participate in regular toolbox talks.
Ensure use of proper PPE by all workers and subcontractors.
Promptly report and document any accidents, incidents, or safety hazards.
Customer & Stakeholder CommunicationAct as the primary on‑site representative for property managers, HOAs, residents, engineers, and consultants.
Maintain regular, professional communication with all stakeholders to manage expectations and address concerns.
Provide job progress updates to the Roofing Operations Manager and internal teams.
Lead final inspections and ensure timely punch list completion and satisfaction.
Documentation & ReportingMaintain detailed daily reports including crew hours, weather, materials used, and progress updates.
Document site conditions, change orders, and deviations from plans or schedules.
Submit timely reports and documentation to internal systems and leadership teams.
Support accurate tracking of job costs and forecasting in collaboration with operations leadership.
Team Development & Leadership GrowthLead by example, setting a standard for professionalism, urgency, and accountability.
Participate in performance feedback for field personnel and subcontractors.
Assist in onboarding and mentoring junior project managers or field staff.
