PositionSummary
Discovery is looking for a talented and passionate Scientific Project Manager to join our Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Services team. As a Scientific Project Manager, you will manage scientific projects, perform histology lab analysis, and ensure customer satisfaction. This role offers an exciting and collaborative work environment where you can contribute meaningfully.
A Day in the Life of a Scientific Project Manager at Discovery Life Sciences- Process and stain laboratory specimens using IHC techniques
- Interact with internal laboratory team and customers on a daily basis
- Generate reports for inventory, shipping and order statuses
- Master’s Degree in a life sciences discipline preferred (i.e. biology, microbiology, biomedical sciences, molecular biology, etc.) OR Bachelor’s Degree in molecular biology or cell biology with at least 2 years of industry experience
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments and resolve multiple complex problems simultaneously
- Experience in IHC, IF, biomarker research, microscopy use and coursework in Pathology/Histology; RNA ISH/FISH is a plus
- Familiarity with automated IHC/IF platforms (e.g., Dako, Ventana, Leica) is a plus
- Technical skills will be taught during job training
- Design and conduct laboratory experiments and maintain appropriate study documentation
- Support the Director, IHC Services throughout projects, including communication with Sponsor and Vice President, IHC Services for technical coordination, study design, and proposal writing
- Coordinate with departments for test and control slides, patient samples, and communicate with the sponsor for project coordination
- Stain tissue samples using IHC, score samples, and generate reports detailing scoring data and experimental results for study sponsors
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to laboratory personnel assigned to assist in project execution
- Ensure appropriate lab compliance with institutional and accrediting agency regulations
- Determine and provide appropriate supplies for laboratory personnel
- Follow company policies and procedures, including quality, safety and universal precautions
- Respect the privacy of personal information of patients, co-workers, and all individuals with whom the Company interacts
- Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the Company
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor; these may be unrelated to the position described
- Consistent and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position. Role is on-site.
Discovery Life Sciences is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices, and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $65,000 - $75,000 annually. The exact base pay offered will depend on qualifications, skills and experience. Your annual salary is only one part of your total compensation package.
