Responsibilities- Maintaining patient medical records, updating patient medical history, and vital signs as needed.
- Conducting complete patient X-ray procedures, including taking, developing, and storing X-Rays as necessary.
- Completing periodontal charting as directed.
- Preparing tools and equipment necessary for the Provider and assisting the Provider with exams as necessary.
- Performing preventative periodontal care on patients, including scaling, prophylaxis, root planing, and the application of preventative agents and sealants.
- Performing expanded functions, such as placing and carving amalgam and composite restorations, applying cavity liners, and placing/removing temporary crowns.
- Providing anesthetic for preps for the doctor.
- Administering local anesthesia and nitrous oxide analgesia as necessary.
- Working in tandem with the doctors to carry one column of restorative work each day.
- 1+ years of practical experience as a dental hygienist.
- Registered Dental Hygienist License in PA.
- Local Anesthesia license (required).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques, such as intraoral and extraoral x-rays.
- Desire and ability to learn new skills and be a team player.
- Commitment to being punctual and reporting to work on time.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the desire for professional growth.
- Be organized and possess a superior knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology.
