Overview
Corning Incorporated – a world-leading innovator in glass, ceramic, and materials science – is seeking Manufacturing Associates to support raw materials, in-process workflow, subassemblies, and finished goods in the cable manufacturing process. This role may involve UV coloring, stranding, buffering, ribboning, IPQC, jacketing, print/respool, cable repair, shipping/receiving, cutting and packaging. Basepay
Base pay range: $21.50/hr – $26.25/hr

The position’s starting pay is dependent on various factors including geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
Responsibilities- Beginning of shift check with Manufacturing.
- Coordinate assignments and production priorities.
- Assemble shop papers, MI’s and raw materials prior to startup.
- Startup and changeovers per standard operating procedure.
- Monitor lines to ensure quality; perform necessary PQA checks to meet specifications.
- Report non-conformance; maintain 5S-ready, clean, and orderly workspace.
- Know performance metrics and work toward targeted objectives.
- May perform weekly associate maintenance; proactively report equipment issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance procedures and occasionally troubleshoot.
- Assist RD&E with experiments as requested.
- Load and unload raw materials; follow safe material handling procedures.
- Receive, stock, store, issue raw materials and items for production; maintain inventory accuracy (cycle counts, daily transactions).
- Label and package reels for shipment; verify QC paperwork, barcode, and data sheets with reel tags.
- Inspect reels for damage and print statements; work in a team to optimize quality and safety.
- Adhere to general duties and be adaptable to other assigned tasks as needed.
- High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Forklift experience; at least 18 years of age.
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of machine capabilities.
- Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts, night shift.
- Good working conditions with possible heavy lifting in rare instances.
- Majority of time involves light lifting.
- Exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, and noise with tolerable levels.
